A proper Montepulciano d'Abruzzo  - rich, roast coffee and aniseed notes on a warm powerful finish, make this Montepulciano a 'must try.'  Quite firm, with mixed dark and red berry and also savoury flavours from ageing in Slavonian oak for 6 months. Illuminati has a great reputation in this area, and this wine has been awarded 2 glasses by Italy's most prestigious Gambero Rosso.
